Privacy policy
This site collects nothing about you by itself. The one thing that sends us information is the contact form, and only what you type into it.
Last updated 25 October 2026. All legal pages.
These pages describe how this website and our quotes work today. They have not yet been reviewed by a lawyer, and the terms in a written quote take precedence.
In short
- No cookies, no analytics, no advertising or tracking tools, no fingerprinting, and nothing loaded from other sites: not fonts, scripts, maps, videos or social buttons.
- We ask for no account, no password and no payment on this site.
- The contact form asks for what we need to reply: your name, your email address, what the message is about and the message. Your organisation is optional.
- We use what you send only to answer you and, if you ask for one, to prepare a quote. We do not sell it, share it for advertising or add you to a mailing list.
Who is responsible
Apelora, the open-source project behind Apelora Fabric and the services offered around it, is responsible for what you send through this site. You can reach us through the contact form. The legal name and postal address of the company that provides paid services are given in the written quote for each service, and are added to this page before the first paid engagement starts.
What this website collects
The pages are static files. They contain no code that records what you do. The site sets no cookies and stores nothing else in your browser; see the cookie policy. The pages tell your browser not to load anything from another address, so a third-party tool cannot be added by accident. The documentation search runs in your browser against a file served from this site; what you type is not sent anywhere.
Hosting
The site is served by GitHub Pages. Like any web host, GitHub receives technical data when your browser asks for a page, such as your IP address and browser type, and may log it under GitHub's privacy statement. We do not receive those logs. Links to GitHub, such as the source code, issues and discussions, take you to a service with its own rules; what you post in a public issue or discussion is public.
The contact form
The form currently sends nothing: it is not connected to a message service yet, and the page says so. When it is connected, this is what happens.
| What | Why | Required |
|---|---|---|
| Name | To know who to answer | Yes |
| Email address | To reply to you | Yes |
| Organisation | To understand your environment | No |
| What it is about, and the message | To answer the right question | Yes |
- Where it goes. Your message is sent by a small program we run to an email inbox that we read. The mail provider that runs that inbox handles it for us. The program does not keep the message. It holds your connection's address in memory for up to an hour to stop one sender flooding the form, and does not write it down.
- Why we may use it. To answer your enquiry and take steps you ask for before an agreement, such as a quote. This is our legitimate interest in answering people who write to us, and, for a quote, the steps before a contract. You are not asked to tick a box, because the message is something you choose to send.
- How long we keep it. As long as it takes to answer you and to deal with any quote or engagement that follows, and as long as the law requires us to keep records of an engagement. If nothing follows, we delete the conversation. You can ask us to delete it at any time.
- Nothing else. No marketing emails, no newsletter, no sharing with other companies, and no decisions made about you by software.
The software
Apelora Fabric runs on your own servers. It does not call home, send telemetry or check a licence online; see running without internet access. What it stores about your users stays in your own database.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you can ask us what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, limit or object to how we use it, and receive it in a usable form. Ask through the contact form and we will answer within one month. You can also complain to your data protection authority. We do not send your message to anyone beyond the services described above.
Children
This site is for people who run servers for work. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If we change what is collected, for example by connecting the contact form, we change this page first and show the date above. Older versions are in the history of the site's repository.
